Pinot Noir Magnums and Raiding the Winery Cellar...

It only feels like days ago that we had the final clean down at the winery at the end of vintage 2021 and here we are now, welcoming some of the first interns into the vineyard ahead of vintage 2022. We’ve had an amazing period of settled weather in Central Otago and the new shoots look almost iridescent in the Spring sunshine. Hopefully this bodes well for the season ahead of us.

The start of Spring also heralds the countdown to the festive season and the time of year when we release the Burn Cottage Vineyard magnums. Why do we love magnums? they age at a slower rate, they are amazing to share with friends, they look great lined up in your cellar and If the last couple of years has taught us anything, it’s that sometimes you need a bit of an indulgence, whether it’s to celebrate or commiserate. If you’ve not had the thrill of pulling the cork on a large format bottle, this is the perfect chance to find out what all the excitement is about. However there are only 36 available, so you'll need to act quickly to have a chance of getting one.

We love drinking and sharing aged wines, so we decided it was the perfect time to raid the winery cellar and put a few unique offerings together. The selection below are from some of the most exciting vintages in Central Otago and can be drunk now or held onto for a while longer.
