Orders

Burn Cottage Vineyard will only accept online orders from customers with physical delivery addresses in the countries where deliveries is possible. All prices listed are quoted in New Zealand dollars NZD$ and all orders will be processed in New Zealand dollars NZD$

Delivery Policy

Please allow up to 7 working days from date of purchase for delivery within NZ, 1-4 weeks for Australia, USA, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and EU, UK 6-10 weeks.

For countries abroad we use NZ based international delivery company NZ Wine Home.

Delivery service fees cover all cost of delivery to your door. Full terms and conditions found on www.nzwinehome.co.nz.

Recipient not home

NZ: If the recipient is not home when the courier arrives, and there has been no authority / instruction from the buyer to leave the delivery on premise, a calling card will be left at the door or in the letterbox asking them to call the courier to arrange a convenient time for re-delivery or pick up from the local post office or depot. The timing for re-delivery may be affected in line with this.

Returned Goods and Refund Policy

Should an item you receive as part of an order from Burn Cottage Vineyard contain a fault – the said product/s should be returned directly to the winery. If the product is a wine, it should be returned with remaining wine left in the bottle for analysis. A replacement bottle will be sent to the customer upon receipt of the faulty wine- no monetary refund will be offered.

Please Note: no refunds are offered if customers simply change their mind about the product purchased.

Security capabilities & policy for transmission of payment

What information do we collect and how do we use it? When you place an order through this website, we need to know your name, e-mail, phone number, address and credit card details if paying by credit card. This allows us to process and fulfill your order successfully.

How does Burn Cottage Vineyard protect customer information? When you place orders, we use a secure server. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all of the sensitive customer data we collect is protected by several layers of encryption and several layers of security to prevent unauthorised access.

Credit Card Details All credit card payments are processed securely through the DPS Payment Gateway and BNZ. Payment by credit card is the fastest way to receive your order as there is no clearance delay. Burn Cottage Vineyard does not store any credit card information on our servers.

Marquis Sauvage

Marquis Sauvage began in the wine business as a young man, owner of a wine bar in Colorado. His passion for wine lead to the family investment in fine wine distributorships in Colorado, Illinois, Nevada and Texas. Marquis is surprised to find himself owning cattle in Central Otago so many years after leaving the family farm in Kansas. He and his brother Alan are passionate lovers of fine wines from around the world. Alan manages the family investment in Koehler Ruprecht in the Rhinepfalz.

Claire Mulholland

General Manager / Winemaker

Originally from Central Otago, following university Claire worked in the pioneering vineyards of this region such as Rippon, Chard Farm and Gibbston Valley. Ensuing vintages abroad were focussed on building up an international picture of Pinot Noir, working in Australia, Oregon and France, including Burgundy’s Cote de Nuit at Domaine De L’Arlot and Domaine Dujac. Significant New Zealand winegrowing experience included roles as head winemaker at Martinborough Vineyard and Amisfield, before joining Burn Cottage Vineyard.

Ted Lemon

Ted is well known in both the new and old worlds for his passionate devotion to producing terroir driven wines. Ted earned an enology degree from the Universite de Bourgogne, apprenticed at Domaines Dujac, Roumier, De Villaine and Bruno Claire and later moving on to managing Domaine Guy Roulot estate in Meursault Burgundy. In 1993 Ted and his wife Heidi founded their estate, Littorai Wines, in Sonoma County, California. Ted has played a pivotal role in the planning and direction of Burn Cottage property, and vineyard – ensuring the block diversity and establishment . He stipulated Biodynamic farming from the outset, which has been key for vineyard health and balance. His work with Burn Cottage over the last 15 years has encompassed all aspects of winemaking direction, with an utmost quality focus and attention to detail.  A close relationship with Littorai endures .

 

Andy Crozier

Andy started his career in the UK the wine trade and completed two years of a graduate management program with Majestic Wine. After returning to NZ to study Oenology and viticulture, he graduated and was then drawn back to the sales and marketing of wine. Over the past 16 years he has held fine wine retail and National/International sales and marketing roles for the likes of Negociants NZ, Craggy Range and Mission Estate.

Olivia Ross

Assistant Winemaker

Joining the Burn Cottage Team in 2014, Olivia has previously studied to a Masters level with viticulture and Oenology, and has a diverse background from arts to vineyard, wine and analysis (and the various areas of convergence!) Olivia's love of wine has taken her from the vineyards and wineries of Central Otago to diverse places abroad, including France several times, and most often recently in the pursuit of organic/biodynamic production. Olivia's role is varied and importantly incorporates both Vineyard and Winery facets of Burn Cottage.

Shane Livingstone

Vineyard Manager

Shane joined Burn Cottage vineyard in 2014, bringing years of local Pinot Noir experience along with winery and viticulture background from several other New Zealand wine regions, and vintages abroad. Shane oversees our vineyard , team, and biodynamic programme, guiding our property forward. Shane shares our motivation to produce wines which reflect the site they originate from.
